Our pastor, Keith Rankin, grew up in Michigan, and after High School graduated from Grand Rapids Baptist College in Michigan. Afterward he went on to seminary at the same location, and graduated with a Masters of Divinity degree. Bev, his wife, also graduated from the same college.
After seminary, Keith was an assistant pastor in Kenosha, Wisconsin, and afterward in 1982 he joined with Continental Baptist Missions (http://www,cbmoffice.org) as church planting missionaries. Previous to being in Marion, Illinois, the Rankins served for 5 years in Wakefield, Michigan where they helped a struggling work in the snowy upper peninsula. For the last 11 years the Rankin.s have ministered at Marion Independent Baptist Church.
The Rankins have three children. Their daughter Faith and her husband live in Marion. Their two other children, Isaac and Luke are teenagers, and live with them.
Keith is known for his clear and down-to-earth Fundamental preaching and exegetical teaching of the Word of God. Bev, is an exceptionally gifted children's leader, and is in charge of the children's program.
